In 2012, singer-songwriter Jeffrey Bowen was living with his brother and sister-in-law west of Lafayette, Indiana, helping care for his dad after a cancer diagnosis. Close to the Bowen farm was a handsome llama named Llouie, who was known to be clever and entertaining. During rain, Llouie stayed in his little red barn with only his head sticking out so he wouldn't miss traffic. During a hard rain, he was even seen on a covered porch attached to the main farmhouse.
When driving by, Jeffrey would wave and call out "Hey Hey Llouie!". One day, Jeffrey sang the phrase and that became the imputes for a new song. Every since the song was written, Jeffrey could see the animated music video in his head. Now, the video is on YouTube thanks to the animations created
by Jacob Vinson of Bosart Studios. Mike Weaver is the creator of Llouie's new line dance "The Llouie".
Llouie The Llama's first stage musical, "Llouie The Llama's Winter Adventure: Lost In The Woods", held 55 performances at the Lilly Theater located on the lower level of the Children's Museum of Indianapolis, Indiana. The show opened on Friday, November 24, 2023 and closed December 31, 2023.
